Teamwork is one of The Medical Station’s key clinic values – whether in providing care to patients, developing health promotion programs, or any other aspect of building (quite literally!) a health clinic.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” - Helen Keller
Teamwork in Build-Out
We are currently in the build-out phase of our new family practice and walk-in clinic in North York. This has been an exciting and challenging experience – one that would not be possible without a fantastic team of Medical Station employees and many community partners. Each individual brings unique and necessary skills and expertise in their own domain – whether care provision, window coverings, graphic design, medical equipment, or clinic cleaning supplies. This teamwork is absolutely crucial in ensuring that once our clinic opens in Spring 2016, we will be ready to welcome new patients from across North York and the GTA.
Diverse Care Providers
Our clinic looks forward to welcoming a diverse team of care providers to The Medical Station. They will include:
- Massage Therapist
- Social Worker
- Speech Pathologist
- Yoga Meditation Specialist
This diverse team not only ensures that our clinic can provide effective and holistic care and services to our patients, but also improves the care each individual provider gives. Collaborative care offers benefits for patients, doctors, health care providers, and clinic staff. Staff bios will be available on The Medical Station website in the New Year.
Another area where we employ teamwork is in the patient-provider interactions. At The Medical Station we respect the expertise that both the physician and the patient bring – while the physician or health care provider has expertise in medical and clinical knowledge, each patient is the expert in their own life experiences and has an important voice in shaping their care plan. Our clinic looks forward to welcoming a diverse group of patients and working with each individual to ensure a positive experience at The Medical Station.
