Dr. Igor Steiman, M.Sc, DC, FCCS(C)
Dr. Igor Steiman completed his M.Sc. in physiology at the University of Toronto before graduating as a chiropractor from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 1981. Since then, he has been in private practice, including medico-legal assessments and consultations, and on the faculty of the CMCC.
After completing an intensive postgraduate residency program, where he gained invaluable knowledge and skills, Igor became a Fellow of the College of Chiropractic Sciences (Can.).
Dr. Steiman has practised in various settings, treating acute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal problems in people of all ages, from head to toe. He has found that his manual techniques coupled with progressive rehabilitative exercises are often effective, though he also employs physiotherapeutic modalities, orthotic devices, and lifestyle counselling effectively.
In 2004, Dr. Steiman became a Staff Chiropractor at St. Michael's Hospital, and his faculty role changed – he now teaches and supervises chiropractic interns treating patients referred by the hospital's family physicians to the integrated chiropractic clinic. Dr. Steiman has continued his involvement in research and scholarly activity, having published several scientific and professional papers and presented them at national and international conferences.
To balance his professional life, Igor exercises, spends time with his grandchildren, and follows the Toronto Argonauts.
